The results are in! Read the white paper detailing the Algebra 1 iPad pilot results from Amelia Earhart Middle School in Riverside, California. Comparing student performance from the yearlong pilot, over 78 percent of students using HMH Fuse scored Proficient or Advanced on the state test, compared to only 59 percent of their fellow students at Earhart—19 percentage points in favor of students using the HMH Fuse app.
Beginning on September 8, 2010, Amelia Earhart Middle School embarked on a partnership with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt designed to revolutionize the way students access their core curriculum. A control group of students used the traditional Holt McDougal Algebra 1 textbook. The pilot compared the two groups in the areas of student achievement and attitudes about learning. Spanning the 2010–2011 school year, the study was conducted by a third-party research firm.
