Why should I use an educational iPad app in the classroom to learn or teach math?

Learning math on an iPad increases student engagement and enthusiasm. An ongoing iPad Algebra 1 pilot study at four middle schools in California is tracking 1,000 students — 600 receiving traditional textbooks and 400 receiving iPads — to the end of the school year, after which a third-party research firm will evaluate the results by the end of Summer 2011. The iPad gets students excited about learning math (see our new Geometry app), and it provides them with the added bonus of mobility and on-demand access to math videos.

How can I get my classroom or school involved?

First, have a conversation with us about how educational apps might complement or improve your digital classroom. Let us help you consider how you will introduce your students to the use and care of their tablet. Visit the HMH Fuse purchase page to learn more about what some are calling "Textbook 2.0".

Is this just another online textbook for an iPad?

No. HMH Fuse is a completely new interactive experience for the iPad. It offers video tutorials, ongoing assessments with the results sent back to the teacher, audio and typed note taking features, and a lot more. See the entire overview of HMH Fuse: Algebra 1 features.
