GO Math! Florida was written by experts in the Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Dr. Juli Dixon, a member of the Standards Writing Committee, and Dr. Thomasenia Adams, a member of the Standards Framing Committee, are authors of the GO Math! program. Their knowledge of the standards, guided the organization of the program, the sequence of lessons and the development of the content each step of the way.
Juli K. Dixon is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education. She earned her B.A. in Mathematics and Education from State University of New York at Potsdam in 1987. She earned her M.S. in Mathematics Education from Syracuse University in 1989. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics Education from University of Florida in 1995. She has taught mathematics at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels. Prior to coming to University of Central Florida in 2000, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education and instructional technology as an assistant professor at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her research interests include integrating technology in mathematics instruction and exploring pre- and inservice teachers' choices regarding the tools they use to facilitate conceptual development in mathematics.
Dr. Thomasenia Adams is a Professor of Mathematics Education in the School of Teaching and Learning at the University of Florida. Her current research interests include the intersection of multiculturalism and the teaching and learning of mathematics and teacher’s mathematics content knowledge. She also teaches undergraduate and graduate mathematics methods courses as well as courses at the doctoral level such Readings and Research in Mathematics Education.
