Shortly after graduating from Fresno State I went into the publishing business. I have been in the business for over 25 years; the 18 years spent with Houghton Mifflin have been the most enjoyable. I believe in the quality products we publish! I went into sales not knowing how much I would enjoy working with teacher’s, it has truly been gratifying and rewarding. My favorite part of the job is working with teachers, becoming teammates, and addressing the many challenges we face. When I’m not developing teacher relationships I’m hanging out with my family, my wife and three lovely adult daughters, and friends, which includes many teachers. Being a Grandparent is awesome. I enjoy the outdoors, riding my bike, and listening to music. My favorite quote is, "A positive, confident, and caring attitude lies at the heart of the winning spirit." Joe Montana. I am positive, confident, and care about educating our students.
I joined Houghton Mifflin in 1995 and have thoroughly
enjoyed the last 14 years in educational publishing. I appreciate all the curricular
we publish; however, literacy is my passion. Before joining, HMH I was a teacher
in LAUSD. I was a Social Ecology Major at UCI and I went to USC for graduate
school. I have enjoyed alumni activities in the USC Rossier School of Education.
When I'm not working, I can be found with my husband and our 5 year old daughter
Kacy hanging out at sporting events and keeping her busy. When it's just me,
I love to read.
San Francisco Walks With Kids is the title of my life
right now. Each afternoon you'll find me exploring the streets, restaurants
and parks with my husband and 2-year-old daughter. When not enroute to our next
adventure I am running the Presido, reading a book, or mapping our next escapade.
Digging in the dirt is my favorite pastime! The dirtier
I am at the end of a long day of gardening the better I feel! Nothing brings
me a greater sense of pleasure than growing my own vegetables, cutting my own
bouquets or just sitting in the yard admiring the beauty around me!
